Lost $120 on those fancy raised bed kits from Amazon
I bought those cedar raised bed kits that come in a flat box. Looked great in the photos, but after assembly the wood started splitting within 2 months. The bottom boards rotted out by fall because they used super thin material. I could have built twice as many beds for that money using rough lumber from the local yard. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific brand or just stick to building from scratch?

Nah, it's just a raised bed. It's not that deep.

Wait, is that a raised bed or a really big bird feeder? Because I built one once that looked more like a failed art project than anything functional.

Did you try sealing the wood before you put it together? I learned that the hard way with a garden bench kit from a big box store. The thing fell apart after one season, and I was so mad I just used the scraps to make a little birdhouse instead. Those kits are all hype, I swear they use the cheapest materials they can get away with. My neighbor uses those metal raised beds from the farm supply store, and hers look fine after three years. But honestly, half the fun is building your own stuff anyway. You get to pick the right wood and make it exactly how you want.
