Just counted 47 separate trips to the hardware store for my deck rebuild
That number hit me when I found the receipt pile in my glove box. It's for a simple 12x16 pressure-treated deck in my Charlotte backyard. Every single weekend for months, it was something else: lag bolts, joist hangers, more concrete for the footings. Anyone else have a project that just ate up your free time with constant supply runs?

Oh man, that's the real hidden cost of any project lol. I swear they should just give you a frequent shopper card at the register. Feels like you spend more time driving than building.

My buddy bought a "quick fix" shelf kit last week and made FOUR separate trips for brackets, anchors, the right screws, then a level.

Hah, I've got a punch card from three different hardware stores in my glovebox right now. Actually started a 'hardware store club' in my head where I track how many trips it takes me to finish one stupid project. Latest one was hanging a towel rack - seven trips because I kept forgetting I needed a different size anchor. Pretty sure the store greeters know me by name now. Something about holding up a bracket and having two employees just sigh and point.
