Concrete drill bit trick for old retaining walls
My 30 year old cinder block wall kept cracking whenever I tried to mount shelves, so I tried a masonry bit dipped in motor oil after failing with two standard ones. That oil cooled the bit and cut through in 40 seconds flat. Anyone else have a weird lube that works better than the store bought stuff?

Ha! Motor oil, huh? That's a new one on me. I was half expecting you to say you dipped it in bacon grease and called it a day. My own weird trick is a squirt of WD-40 and a lot of swearing, but it sounds like you found the secret sauce. Whatever works, man, just don't tell me you tried butter next time.
