Built a raised garden bed on a slope and regretted everything
I was dead set on putting my new 4x8 raised bed right at the back of my yard. Then I dug the first hole for the posts and realized the whole thing was going to be 6 inches off level. After fighting with it for an hour (my back still hurts), I pulled up the posts and moved it to a flat spot near the patio. Way easier leveling and it gets better sun anyway. Has anyone else had to abandon a plan mid-build?

Actually leveling on a slope just takes longer but works great once you dig the lower side down properly.

Respectfully, I have to disagree here. Digging down the lower side sounds simple but in reality you're just creating a massive dirt pile and a weak spot where water will pool. I've tried this on a few projects and the ground always settles unevenly no matter how much you tamp it down. You're better off building a level platform with gravel and retaining walls if you want something that lasts. Why go through all that extra digging when a proper base saves you headaches later?
