Vent: I picked the High Sierra Trail over the JMT back in 2019 and I still wonder about it
Everyone kept pushing me toward the John Muir Trail, but I went with the High Sierra Trail out of Sequoia instead because permits were way easier to snag. Those 72 miles through Kern Canyon and up to Whitney were brutal and gorgeous, but now every time someone brings up the JMT I get this little itch. Anyone here done both and actually prefer one?

Hate to break it, but JMT permits are way harder than HST.
