Saw a sign at the Eagle Creek trailhead in Oregon saying 47 miles, my map says 51, which is right?
Was planning a 3 day trip on the Eagle Creek loop outside Cascade Locks and the sign at the parking lot says 47 miles total. My paper map and two apps both say it's closer to 51, and a ranger told me the sign has been wrong since a reroute back in 2019. So do you all trust posted signs or your own maps when they don't match up? I'd rather not plan camp spots around a wrong mileage number.
Wait, a ranger told you the sign's been wrong since 2019 and you're still asking if posted signs are right? Signs get faded and bent and nobody ever updates them after a reroute. Your map plus two apps agreeing on 51 is your real answer here.
