Oh man, that takes me back. I once had a very serious staring contest with a squirrel that I'm pretty sure I lost. A mile is next level though. That goat had a personal vendetta. I hope you at least looked cool running, I definitely just looked scared.

My cousin's goat chased her for a solid quarter mile once. They absolutely can hold a grudge over something stupid like you didn't share your apple. I believe your fear was totally justified.
