Forgetting common sense is bad, but I once packed out all my trash and forgot my own tent poles.

Classic hiker etiquette right there. Nothing says "I love nature" like leaving a special souvenir trash pile at every single campsite. Did they pack in all that garbage but forget to pack out the common sense? Honestly looks like some people treat the whole trail like one big dumpster.
