Tried a new wire labeling method on a King Air panel upgrade

We were redoing the whole comm stack in a 2005 King Air 350. I used the old way of writing on heat shrink with a fine marker for about 50 wires. My partner used a Brady BMP21 label printer with the high-temp polyimide tape. After the first ground test with the heat on, half my labels were smudged and unreadable. His were still perfect and clear. Has anyone else switched to printed labels for cockpit work and found it worth the setup time?

Did the heat from the ground test come from the panel itself or from a separate test heater?

Which printer model did you use?

Honestly, it's just a printer. The thing either works or it jams on page two. People get way too deep into specs for something that mostly just spits out coupons and school projects.
