Spent $400 on a thermal imager for intermittent faults

It paid for itself in two weeks by finding a bad connector on a G1000 bus that was heating up under load. What other tools have you guys bought that ended up being worth way more than the price tag?

Honestly, the cheap stuff is sometimes the real hero. I grabbed a basic borescope for like sixty bucks to look inside walls and it's saved me so many wild guesses. That little camera finds problems you'd never see otherwise.

True, but I'd call that borescope more than just basic, it's a legit diagnostic tool. The cheap part is just the price, not what it can do. That thing finds the exact spot you need to fix.

Grabbed a cheap power quality meter after chasing phantom voltage drops for a month. That little screen showed a dirty sine wave from a failing UPS that was cooking control boards. Found the root cause in ten minutes.
