PSA: Saw a 737 MAX wing tip brake light LED retrofit cut my inspection time from 25 minutes to 8
I did the same right wing tip light check on two planes at our hangar in Renton this past Tuesday. The older halogen one took me 25 minutes because I had to pull the lens, test the bulb, and clean the corroded socket. The new LED unit on the second plane took 8 minutes, just a quick power check and a look at the connector. The difference was the sealed housing and built-in fault light, no more guessing if the bulb is weak. Has anyone else seen a drop in write-ups after switching to these, or is it just me?
