PSA: A trick for stubborn cannon plug pins that actually worked

I was fighting a bad connection on a nav unit for a Citation, and the usual wiggle test and contact cleaner weren't doing it. On a hunch, I gently used a dental pick to lift the tiny spring clip inside the female pin, just a hair, and the resistance went back to spec. Has anyone else had luck with that, or is there a better fix you use?

Yeah, but @kelly_west74 is right, you can ruin the pin fast.

Lifting that spring clip is a classic move, but man, it's so easy to overdo it. I've seen pins get wrecked from just a little too much lift. My old shop would just replace the pin if the cleaner didn't work, way less risk.

Just use a dental pick, way more control than a flathead.
