Found my 500th squashed cannon plug pin today, and I almost missed the pattern
I keep a little tally in my toolbox lid for every bent or pushed pin I fix on cannon plugs, mostly as a joke, and today's job on a King Air in Tulsa put me at 500. Halfway through repinning a connector I realized the last forty-something were almost all from the same two harness routing spots behind the panel where guys zip tie stuff too tight to the standoff. I used to blame ham fisted line guys for mashing pins, but it was the routing all along and I've been fixing symptoms for years. Now I carry a foot of spiral wrap and a couple adel clamps on every van trip and the comebacks on those two spots have basically dried up. Anybody else keep a dumb tally like this and actually learn something from it?
