Discovered a cheap fix for corroded connectors

Was working on a King Air panel last month. Those cannon plugs had green crust all over the pins. Shop wanted me to replace the whole harness, like $1200. Tried DeoxIT D5 on a hunch from an old forum post. Scrubbed each pin with a fiberglass pen first, then hit it with the spray. Worked perfect. Anyone else have luck with contact cleaner on old corrosion?

Used DeoxIT D5 on a wrecked Cessna 172 headset jack. Corrosion cleared up in two passes. Still works fine a year later.

DeoxIT is good stuff, but isn't that just masking the real problem with a wrecked plane's wiring? A year is a decent run, but corrosion can be sneaky under the surface.

Man, that's a heck of a gamble on a wrecked plane. Hope you're not doing that with anything that keeps the thing in the air.
