Drove my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle, open carrier vs enclosed was a $900 difference and I went cheap
I shipped my 2013 Civic from Phoenix to Seattle back in April and got quotes for both an open carrier at $750 and an enclosed one at $1,650, so I picked open to save the cash. The car showed up with a cracked windshield and a fresh door ding, and the driver just shrugged and said rock chips happen on I-5, which cost me $400 to fix plus the hassle. Has anyone here paid extra for enclosed and felt like it was actually worth it, or is open carrier just a gamble every time?
