Car cover or open trailer for shipping my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle?

I booked shipping for my Civic from Phoenix to Seattle and the broker quoted me $150 more for an enclosed trailer versus an open one. Open seems fine for a 12 year old car with 140k miles, but the enclosed guy swears I will get rock chips on I-5. What does everyone here usually pick, and did open shipping ever ding up your car?
