Rant: A $12 bottle of that ceramic spray coating from Walmart outlasted the $60 pro stuff I used in Omaha
I wanted to test this cheap ceramic spray I grabbed at a Walmart in Omaha two months back. On my daily driver, I did half the hood with it and half with a bottle of pro coating I paid $60 for. Two months of highway driving, one touchless wash a week, and a couple of rainstorms later and the cheap side still beads water just fine. The fancy side is already going flat in spots. I checked the label and the cheap one has almost the same silica content, just a shorter cure. So now I'm wondering if I've been paying for the name and a nicer box this whole time. Has anyone else had a cheap spray coating actually hold up, or did I just get lucky with this batch?
