Cracked windshield in a Target lot taught me about gap insurance
Last Friday I parked at the Target off I-35 in Austin and came out to a 6 inch crack running up my windshield, no note or anything. My comprehensive deductible was $500 and the replacement quote came in at $380, so I paid out of pocket instead of filing a claim. Then I realized my gap insurance from the dealer would have covered the difference if I'd financed more, but I didn't. Now I'm wondering how many people actually check their auto protection coverage before something like this happens, has anyone else skipped filing and regretted it later?
