Am I the only one who switched from a car cover to parking in the garage?
For 6 years I fought with a $70 cover every night in Milwaukee. Now I just back into my buddy's garage spot and my paint hasn't had a single new scratch. Anyone else ditch the cover life for good?
My neighbor read some study from a car detailing site that said covers actually trap grit against the paint and grind it in when the wind moves them around. That matched what I saw on my own hood after two winters of cover use, all these little swirl marks that weren't there before. The cover feels like protection but it's really just rubbing dirt into your clear coat every single night. A garage keeps the car dry and out of the sun without anything touching the paint at all. Six years of fighting that thing in Milwaukee weather sounds rough, you earned that garage spot.
