Added a $9 steering wheel lock just to mess with my insurance rate and it actually worked
My agent knocked $61 a year off my premium in Columbus after I sent a photo of the Club on the wheel, which is way more than the lock cost, so now I am wondering if anyone else has gotten a discount from something this cheap.
My brother in Cleveland did the same thing with a $12 Club from Walmart and his rate dropped about $40 a year, so you are not alone on this one. I get why it feels weird that a cheap piece of metal beats all the safe driver courses and stuff they try to sell you. It kind of stings for people who have been paying full price for years without knowing this was even an option. Good on you for sending that photo in, honestly that was smart.
