Vent: A kid stuffed a toy car in the exhaust for 'extra speed' and we had to dig it out

It took forever to pull it out without hurting the pipe. I guess I'll add toy checks to my normal routine now.

My nephew once put pancake batter in my waffle iron to make it "better". Had to throw the whole thing out. Used to think kid proofing was just outlet covers and baby gates. That exhaust story and Fiona252's point about checking air filters changed my mind. Now I find crayons in the DVD player and peas in the keyhole. It's a whole new level of patrol.

Toy checks are a good idea after that mess. Kids come up with crazy plans and don't get the harm. Honestly, it's wild what they'll do to 'fix' things. You should look at other places too, like the air filter or under the car. Doing it often stops worse problems later. Tbh, raising kids is like always putting out fires.
