Just hit 500 oil changes on my personal log...

I keep a little notebook in my toolbox and mark down every basic service. Hit 500 today, which is way more than I thought. It matters because I can now guess filter sizes and oil amounts without looking it up, which saves a few minutes each time. That's a full workday back over the years. Anyone else track simple jobs like this, or am I just weird?

Ever read that thing about how experts just have a bigger mental catalog of examples? That's totally what you built with your log... it's like your own reference book. Pretty smart way to get those minutes back.

Forget just saving minutes. The real win is how it changes your thinking. You start seeing patterns in your own work you'd miss otherwise. Turns a simple log into a decision-making tool.

But what if you're just seeing patterns that aren't really there? @fiona_young, sometimes a log is just a list and you can overthink it. That mental catalog might just be full of your own biases.
