I stopped greasing lug studs after a guy at the tire shop in Dayton showed me his torque wrench slipping
I used to hit the studs with a little anti seize because it felt smoother, but he grabbed a torque wrench and it clicked way early, like 60 ft lbs when I was going for 100. He said the grease cuts friction so the wrench lies, and I watched a wheel almost walk off a Civic a month later because the same thing happened to a coworker. Anybody here actually run dry studs and chase threads instead of lubing them, or am I the odd one out.
