I picked a Milwaukee 3/8 impact over Snap-on and don't regret it

I mean my Snap-on guy was pushing the hard, but I couldn't justify $600 for something that's gonna get dropped in oil every day. Been running the Milwaukee for 6 months now and it's pulled every bolt I've thrown at it including a rusted control arm bolt that had me sweating. Anyone else decide to just go with the cheaper option and have it work out fine?

Wipe the grease off the battery contacts every couple weeks and that Milwaukee will outlast the Snap-on anyway. The Snap-on guys always talk about the rebuild program and in-warranty service but when you're turning wrenches every day you don't have time to send stuff back. I had one of their 3/8 impacts die on me six months in and it took two weeks to get a replacement. My Makita has been through hell and back for a third of the price and never skipped a beat.

You know, I used to be one of those people who swore you had to buy Snap-on or nothing. I thought anything else was just going to let you down when you really needed it. But a few years back I picked up a Harbor Freight impact on a whim, just to have a beater tool, and that thing is still going strong. It changed my whole way of thinking about tools. Your story with the Milwaukee is the same kind of thing. It's good to see that you don't always have to empty your wallet to get the job done.
