I picked a $40 junkyard alternator over a reman and got lucky this time
Was replacing the alternator on my 2005 F-150 last Tuesday in Tacoma and the reman at the counter was 220 bucks, but the junkyard one was sitting right there for 40. I grabbed it, threw it in, and it's been charging at 14.2 volts for a week straight. Any of you ever roll the dice on junkyard electrical parts and regret it or win?

Junkyard wins are real, just carry a spare if you drive far.

Man, @the_parker really out here acting like a blown tire is a life event. I mean, yeah, a spare is smart, but that's basic stuff, not exactly a revelation.
