Finally found the source of that mystery oil leak after 4 weeks of guessing

My buddy's F-150 has been dripping oil onto his driveway since mid-September (you know, the kind of stain that spreads). I swapped the valve cover gasket first, still leaked. Then the oil pan gasket, nope. Yesterday I borrowed a UV dye kit from a guy at the NAPA on Federal Blvd and traced it to a cracked PCV hose hidden under the intake manifold. $14 hose and 20 minutes of work, dry underneath now. Has anyone else had a stupid little rubber hose cause that much headache compared to the big parts?

Did you check the breather hose on the back of the block? Same thing happened to me, that tiny one was my leak.
