Why does nobody talk about the time it takes to find a hidden spot weld on a '78 Chevy door skin?
I was replacing a door skin on a 1978 Chevy pickup last week, and the factory manual said there were 12 spot welds to drill out. After an hour, I had 11 and the last one was nowhere to be found, so I spent another three hours with a grinder and a chisel hunting for it under the primer. Has anyone else had a simple job blow up because of one hidden factory weld?

Oh man, tell me about it. I swear they hide one weld just to mess with you. I did a quarter panel once and that last mystery spot took me longer than the other nine combined.
