That time a fender gap taught me a $300 lesson

I was working on a '15 Civic in Detroit last month and thought I had the bumper lined up perfect. After paint and clear I noticed a 3/16 gap on the passenger side that drove me nuts. Had to pop the bumper off and re-shim the brackets, anyone else deal with alignment issues after paint?

Drove me crazy too on a Subaru I painted last year. Ended up using rubber washers as shims to push the bumper out just a hair. That tiny gap catches the light and makes the whole job look sloppy
