Spent $120 on a stud welder, my slide hammer days are finally done

Picked up a cheap one off marketplace after 3 fender pulls on a rusty Tacoma, it paid for itself by lunch. Anyone else drop cash on a tool they were sure was a scam but turned out legit?

Wait, you actually got one of those cheap stud welders to work on a rusty fender? That's the part that surprises me. I always figured those things were junk, like they'd just rip the stud right out of the metal the second you pulled. But after fighting with a slide hammer on my buddy's old Subaru for two hours and barely making a dent, I borrowed his cheap one and it pulled the dent smooth in like ten minutes. The trick was just letting the gun set the pin properly and being patient with the puller, not yanking on it like a maniac. I was dead wrong about those things, and now I'm looking for one of my own.
