Showerthought: My orbital sander's backing pad completely delaminated on a big quarter panel job yesterday.
Had to finish the whole thing with a block and paper by hand, which honestly gave me a new appreciation for the tool. Anyone have a favorite brand for replacement pads that hold up better?

Man, that sounds rough. @grant_allen85 had good luck with those, but I've found even the fancy pads can fail if you're really leaning into it. Isn't it crazy how a broken tool makes you miss it so much?

I switched to the 3M Xtract pads after mine blew out, they've lasted me over a year now.
