Showerthought: I always laughed at guys who mask everything, until I tried it on a Honda bumper

I used to think the guys who masked off every single trim piece and light were just wasting time. Like, come on, just be careful with the buffer, right? Then I had a 2018 Civic come in last month with this faded black plastic trim that had white polish haze baked into the grain. Spent two hours with a brush and cleaner trying to get it out, and it still looked like crap. So on the next car, a silver Accord, I took the extra 15 minutes to mask everything - the window trims, the grill, the wiper cowl. Came out perfect, no haze, no residue. Now I feel dumb for all those years of scrubbing and cussing. Has anyone else had a similar moment where they finally gave in to some old timer's advice?

Right? It's like admitting your dad was right about power tools.

Man, nobody talks about how satisfying it is to fix something with your own hands.

My idea of "fixing something" is replacing the batteries in the remote and feeling like a real handyman.
