Rant: I blew $200 on a cheap paint booth filter kit
I figured I'd save some cash and bought a no-name filter kit from a discount supplier instead of my usual brand. The paint finish came out with dust nibs all over a custom blue job I was doing for a customer. Anyone else ever get burned trying to cut corners on shop supplies like this?

Honestly, the $200 kit probably wasn't even the issue. I've done back-to-back sprays with a bargain filter and a premium one on the same job and couldn't tell the difference in dust nibs. Maybe check if your booth's seals are good or if your air compressor is clean before blaming the filter.

Back-to-back and saw zero difference? @the_tara that's wild, I'd bet good money on the expensive one if I ran a shop.

Funny enough, I was the same way a few years ago. @the_tara makes a solid point though, I checked my booth seals after reading her post and found a leak I'd been ignoring.
