PSA: I dropped $800 on a new infrared paint curing lamp and it's a game changer

I was tired of waiting a full day for filler to cure on a big quarter panel job, so I took the plunge on this lamp. It cut my cure time down to about 45 minutes, which let me move way faster through the repair stages. Has anyone else tried using infrared for body filler, and what's your setup like?

Question if the time saved is worth the cost for most people. That's a huge chunk of change for a tool that only speeds up one step. Most shops I know just plan the work flow around normal cure times.

Man, I saw a video on those lamps a while back. The guy was curing filler in real time and I just figured it was some pro shop magic. Hearing it actually works that well is wild. That time save on a big panel is no joke, you basically get a whole extra work day back. I've been using a cheap heat gun and a lot of patience, which is clearly the wrong move. Might have to start saving up.

Yeah @jesse994, I heard the real trick is the lamp's UV wavelength, not just the heat. Makes the filler cure way more solid.
