I still think PPG is overrated for daily drivers

For years I only used PPG paint on customer cars because that's what the shop I trained at swore by. Switched to Sherwin-Williams about 2 years ago after a rep gave me a demo and I saved $60 a gallon with no complaints. Am I missing something or are most guys just paying for the name?

Nah man you're not missing much. PPG's good but not worth the extra cash.

Hold up, is paying extra for paint really that deep? People act like PPG or Sherwin-Williams is gonna fix their whole life or something. Last time I paid more for premium paint it still dripped down my wall just like the cheap stuff. Maybe it covers a LITTLE better but not enough to matter unless you're painting for a museum. Most folks just need three coats of basic paint anyway.
