Had a day last week where every paint match hit on the first try

Six cars came through my booth on Thursday in Cleveland. Silver Accord, red F-150, blue Camry, black Tahoe, white Civic, and a weird metallic green Subaru. Zero re-sprays. First time that's happened in my 14 years doing body work. My sprayer felt like an extension of my arm that day. Anyone else ever have a magic run like that where the paint gods just smiled on you?

You said "felt like an extension of my arm" and that's exactly what it's like when everything clicks. Were you mixing the paint yourself that day or did you have a fresh batch from the supplier that just happened to be dead on?

Hear you on that. There's nothing quite like that perfect consistency where the paint just moves with you. I remember one day years ago I had a batch that was mixed a little too thick and it was like fighting the brush the whole time, just couldn't get the flow right. But the times when it's dead on, especially with a fresh batch from the supplier that just somehow hits that perfect sweet spot, it feels like you're not even working anymore. Just pure muscle memory and the paint doing exactly what you want it to.

Wait, was that William you were replying to? Quick heads up but I think that was me who said the "extension of my arm" thing, not him. You might have gotten us mixed up in the thread!
