Fixed a dent with just hammer and dolly, no filler. My crew says I'm outdated, but the finish was perfect. Thoughts?

Your crew calling you outdated is missing the point completely. That method needs a feel for the metal that you can't get from just slapping on filler. A perfect finish shows you actually fixed the dent, not just covered it up. Using filler is faster, but it doesn't teach you anything about the real shape of the panel. Your way builds skill that makes every future repair better. That's not old school, it's the foundation of doing it right.

Disagree, filler can teach you about metal shaping too.

Seriously, your crew is missing the point. Using just a hammer and dolly is like knowing how to sew a button instead of using glue. It might take longer, but the fix actually lasts. I've watched people pile on filler only to have the dent come back after a hot day. That perfect finish proves you understand the metal, not just how to hide it. Calling that outdated is like saying cooking is old school because takeout exists.
