Finally figured out how to fix that weird dent on my own car

Had this small crease by the tail light on my 2015 Civic that was bugging me for months. Tried the glue pull method with some cheap tabs from Amazon and it actually popped out clean in about 20 minutes. Anyone else have luck with glue pulling on tight spots?

That 80 percent fix is real though, lol. I had a similar dent right on the body line of my old Corolla and the glue pull got most of it out but that last little wave was infuriating. Did you try pushing on it from the back at all? I ended up using a hair dryer and a plastic trim tool to work it out from underneath after pulling the inner panel cover off.

Honestly, the glue pull trick is hit or miss depending on the dent location. My buddy had a similar crease on his old Accord's rear quarter panel, and he tried the glue pull method with a hot glue gun. It popped out about 80 percent of the dent, but there was still a slight wave you could see in certain light. He ended up using a heat gun and carefully massaging it from behind after removing the tail light trim. Took him like an hour total and cost basically nothing for supplies. Ngl, it looked way better than paying a shop 300 bucks for paintless repair.

Cost basically nothing for supplies" is great and all until you realize your buddy basically became a part time auto body tech for an hour. That 80 percent fix is the siren song of DIY dent repair. You're standing there squinting at the wave thinking "just a little more heat" and next thing you know you're watching a YouTube tutorial on how to weld a new quarter panel. Hey, at least he didn't turn it into a sad little pancake trying to hammer it out from behind. Your buddy's patience is honestly impressive, most people would've given up and just parked facing the wall.
