The 'reply with a selfie' trend actually fixed my engagement slump
My clips tanked for like 3 weeks straight, views under 200 each time. I tried changing hashtags, posting at 5am, even paid for a boost that did nothing. Then I saw this Melbourne creator reply to every comment with a photo of her face pulling a dumb expression. Decided to test it on my Thursday meme post, replied to all 40 comments with selfies from my cam roll. That video blew up to 12k views by Sunday and my DMs are full of people asking if I'm single. Has anyone else tried some weird engagement hack that actually worked against your instincts?

Doesn't the whole thing feel backwards, like you're just throwing spaghetti at the wall until something sticks?
This actually makes sense to me because algorithms are basically bored, they want to see proof of real human activity and the selfies force that weird energy into the comments.
I've noticed the posts where I roast myself in replies get way more traction than the ones where I play it cool, so maybe the dumb expressions are the secret sauce.
