The 'funny Aussie fails' compilations are getting meaner, anyone else noticing?

I remember scrolling through these compilations back in 2021, it was all people tripping over kangaroos or a kid losing a thong at the beach, proper harmless stuff. Now I swear half the clips are just filming someone having a rough day, like a tradie getting a call from his boss, and the comments are roasting them hard. Is it just me, or has the humor shifted from laughing with to laughing at, and does that bother anyone else or am I just getting old?

Over east I used to defend these as harmless, but last week I saw one where a bloke was just crying in his ute and the comments were pure venom. That flipped it for me, it's just punching down now.
