Update: spent 2 hours stacking 20 subs and a tree branch ruined the whole thing
Last Saturday I drove out to a dark spot near Joshua Tree with my new tracker and spent 2 hours getting 20 subs of Andromeda lined up perfectly. Around 1am a gust came through and a branch I had not noticed was in frame the entire time, so every single sub had a fat blurry twig cutting across the galaxy. I sat there in my camp chair just staring at the back of the camera feeling like a total idiot. Now I walk around with a flashlight and check the whole frame on the first shot before I touch the intervalometer. How do you all scout your framing before it gets dark, do you just pull the trigger and check the LCD or is there a trick I am missing?
