That photo of Jupiter I thought was a hoax turned out to be real

I saw this shot of Jupiter floating around on here a few months ago and I literally laughed out loud. I thought no way did someone get those cloud bands that clear from their backyard. Then I checked the specs for a 10 inch Dobsonian with a planetary camera and realized it's totally doable. I spent 3 nights last week trying it myself with my 8 inch and got a half decent result. Has anyone else been shocked by what's possible with gear under a grand?

i read somewhere that a guy got a pic of the GRS from a 6 inch scope and that blew my mind even more. like that thing is supposed to be a dying storm but you can still catch it with something that small. my 8 inch gave me a smudge that looked more like a tomato than a storm but hey im proud of it anyway.
