That one night at Cherry Springs that almost broke my camera

Honestly, I drove 4 hours up to Cherry Springs State Park last month for the new moon window, and everything went sideways. The forecast said clear skies, but by 9pm a fog bank rolled in and I sat there for two hours in 40 degree temps with dew forming on my lens. Then around midnight it just vanished, and I got the sharpest shot of the Orion Nebula I've ever pulled off, even with a cheap 70-300mm zoom lens. Ngl, that one hour made the whole trip worth it, but has anyone else had a night where the worst conditions suddenly turned into your best capture ever?

Fog got me once at a beach shoot, wiped out every frame, then the sun broke through and lit the pier in this wild pink glow that I still use as my wallpaper.
