That night at the Joshua Tree star party ruined my old camera for me
I was out there last fall with my trusty Canon T7i, thinking my shots of the Milky Way were decent. Then this guy with a modded Nikon D750 let me look through his viewfinder at the North America Nebula, and the hydrogen-alpha detail was insane. Now my unmodded shots just look flat and boring. Anyone know a good place in Arizona to get a camera modded, or should I just save up for a dedicated astro cam?

Maybe you just need better editing skills.

Editing skills don't fix a bad photo from the start. You need good light and a decent shot to work with. Trying to edit a blurry, dark picture is just putting lipstick on a pig. The best editing in the world can't add detail that the camera never captured. Start with a solid photo, then editing actually helps.

$5,000 on a Lightroom subscription? That's insane! I didn't even know you could spend that much on editing software. Who pays that kind of money just to fix photos?
