Just realized my friend in Denver changed how I see astro photos
We were looking at my shot of the Orion Nebula and she said 'it's pretty, but it feels like a postcard, not a place.' She meant I was just copying the same framing and colors everyone uses. It hit different because she's right, I was just trying to make it look like the popular ones online. Anyone else get stuck trying to make their photos look like someone else's version of space?

Shane's right about the coffee shops. It's the same light wood and white walls in every city now. My own Instagram feed looks like a catalog, not my life. We're all chasing the same look because it got likes last time. How do we even know what we actually like anymore?

Ever notice how everything looks the same now? Same coffee shops, same phone photos with the same filter. Your post just made me see it. We're all copying a style we think is right, scared to make our own thing. That postcard feeling is everywhere, not just your space photos. It's like we forgot how to see stuff for ourselves.

Ugh, you're dead on. I scrolled through my camera roll last week and it's just a hundred versions of the same latte art shot. Even my vacation pics look like I copied them from a travel ad. We're not even taking photos anymore, we're just filling in a template.
