Finally got a decent shot of the Orion Nebula from my backyard
I've been fighting with light pollution and shaky tracking for months. Last night, I stacked 45 two-minute exposures using Siril and the difference is huge. Has anyone else in a suburban area found a good filter that helps with the orange glow?

Forty-five exposures sounds like a lot of work for a blurry space cloud.

It's the same thing with people. You meet someone once, they're just a blur. But you talk to them forty-five times, you start to see the actual shape of who they are. Most folks just don't put in the exposures.

But that's the whole point, @the_hayden. Each one of those exposures is capturing light that traveled for thousands of years. Stacking them pulls out details our eyes could never see on their own. It turns a faint smudge into a picture full of structure and color.
