TIL I picked the cheaper vet clinic for my dog's teeth cleaning and it went sideways
Last month I had to choose between a $180 cleaning at the discount place on 5th Street and a $420 one at my regular vet who wanted to do bloodwork first. I went cheap, and my dog got a mild infection two days later that cost me $650 in meds and a follow up. Has anyone else had a vet bill backfire on them like that?
Honestly you saved $240 upfront and only lost $410 net, so the math still kinda works in your favor even with the mess. Vets push bloodwork on older dogs for good reason, but plenty of young healthy dogs get dentals without it and walk out fine. Sounds less like the cheap place screwed you and more like your dog just caught a bad break.
