The before and after on my neighbor's lawn was insane after 2 weeks of not mowing

I watched a guy in Brentwood let his grass go for exactly 14 days and it went from a boring green carpet to a full on meadow with wild clover and these tiny purple flowers I'd never noticed before. The soil must have been holding seeds for years and just needed a break from the mower blade. Has anyone else seen a yard transform that fast just by leaving it alone?
