Switched from a foam roller to a lacrosse ball for my back last month

I used to spend 15 minutes on a foam roller every morning just trying to hit a knot near my shoulder blade. Never really got it. A buddy from my gym said try a lacrosse ball against the wall. First time I tried it I found the spot in about 30 seconds. Hurt like heck but actually loosened up. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that works way better than the expensive version?

Started with a lacrosse ball for my back and ended up using one as a full body torture device. Found a knot in my glute that I didn't even know existed. It was like my butt was secretly screaming at me for years. Now I just walk around gripping that hard little ball like a security blanket. Kinda sad when a $5 ball fixes what a $60 foam roller couldn't touch.

That cheap little ball will absolutely find things you didn't know were wrong. You gotta hit that glute spot right in the center and just sit on it for a good 20-30 seconds. Don't roll around on it, that just irritates the muscle more. Breathe through it and let the knot soften. If you got a spot in your upper back or shoulder blade, wedge it between the wall and that knot and just lean in. Way more effective than any fancy roller or massage gun for those deep trigger points.

Oh, I just have to disagree with this one. I tried that lacrosse ball business for my shoulder and it made things worse, not better. All that pressure on one tiny spot just left me sore and bruised for days. I've had way better luck with a foam roller where you can actually control how much weight you put on it and spread the pressure out over a bigger area. That ball might work for some folks, but for me it was just a painful waste of five dollars.
