Overheard a teenager say books are just 'dead tree scrolling' and it got me thinking
I was at the bus stop on 5th and Oak yesterday, and this kid told his friend that reading a physical book is basically 'dead tree scrolling.' He wasn't being mean, just totally serious. It made me realize my own Amazon Kindle hasn't been charged in like 8 months because I keep going back to paperbacks from the library. Has anyone else noticed younger people see print as a novelty instead of the default?

My roommate says the same thing but he still drops $40 on vinyl records every week, so I dont think its really about format. Calling it dead tree scrolling is kinda funny though since scrolling implies your thumb is doing the work, but with a book youre turning pages.
