My uncle's 'just flip the breaker twice' fix actually fixed my oven in 3 minutes

I spent $140 on a repairman who couldn't figure out why my oven kept tripping, then my uncle from Cleveland stopped by, told me to flip the main breaker off and on twice to reset the internal board, and it's been working fine for 6 weeks now, has anyone else had a simple household fix that made a pro look silly?
